I’M A FAITHFUL VOTER PROJECT

The I’m A Faithful Voter Project partners with local congregations and senior leadership to encourage voter registration and participation with the goal of securing commit to vote cards and achieving 100% voter participation among eligible voters.

Decisions made about school funding, housing, transportation, policing and job creation are made by the people who show up to vote. That’s why we encourage every member of every Black community of faith congregation to be a voter on Election Day. Black Nashvillians and all communities of color have been underrepresented at every level of government and that disparity is reflected in government policy.

How does it work?

First: Middle TN Regional Organizing Director RaCarol Woodard meets with the pastor or a member of the leadership team to provide a full explanation of the project including timeline, objectives, training, and participation commitment.

Second: A member of our TEAm will meet with the ambassador – the designated congregation member who will serve as the point person. Ambassadors will participate in one ambassador training. Our team will provide ambassadors with support every step of the way.

Third: We’ll schedule a time to briefly speak at your place of worship to highlight the power, impact, and necessity of engaged voters. We’re happy to come for a special occasion like Women’s Day, Men’s Day, Youth Day, College Sunday, or any Sunday.
